Today I would like to write about another performer who will be on the Children's Stage at Irish Fest, Sharon Kennedy - Seanachie.
Sharon will be telling stories of the many Irish traditions. Sharon Kennedy performs stories from around the world, but is best known for those drawn from the Irish oral tradition: tales of the "little people" and the fairy world, of shapeshifting seals known as "selchies" who can assume human form, of giants and wizards, and of magical encounters between ordinary people and extraordinary worlds.
She will be on the Children's Stage Saturday at 3:30 and Sunday at 11:15.
Sharon will also be performing on the Heritage Stage as her well-known character Mary Margaret O'Connell. For this performance Sharon become Mary Margaret and tells of a young, Irish immigrant who has come to Massachusetts for a new chance at life. This character is so amazing that she has told her tale on ABC's "Good Morning America" and on NPR. Her story will come to life on the Heritage Stage on Saturday at 1:00.
I would check her out on both stages because they will be unique, informative, and entertaining. Actually, I plan on doing exactly that (seems that I am going to be doing quite a bit of stage hopping)!
