The well fed does not understand the lean.
This is a proverb that resonates with many people today. Not long ago, there were people across the country protesting for a variety of reasons, but with the thought that it is 99% of Americans (those with lower incomes) versus the 1% (the wealthy) because the wealthy own the government and the institutions that are keeping the rest down. It has come again to the forefront because presidential candidate Mitt Romney is in the 1% and some think that Mitt will only work towards helping that group of Americans. If you want to think about politics facing the nation, I encourage you to keep this proverb in your mind. Ask yourself whether or not you believe it has merit.
