Irish Thought for July 22...

Irish Writers

Jonathan Swift

Born in Dublin, Jonathan Swift is considered one of the preeminent satirists writing English prose, and his works, including Gulliver's Travels and A Modest Proposal, are still read widely.  Swift has all of his writing published anonymously or under pseudonyms such as Lemuel Gulliver, M.B. Drapier, and Isaac Bickerstaff.
