The Irish singer-songwriter Sinéad O'Connor, known for her powerful voice, turbulent career, and shorn heard, was born on December 8, 1966. She had a massive international hit in 1990 with the song "Nothing Compares 2 U", written by Prince, and since then she as become controversial with her outspoken views on religion, women's rights, and war, while still being successful as a singer.
